Explore the Eastern Shore By Season

Each season on the Eastern Shore brings its own menu of signature experiences. Spring is marked by the seabirds, like the endangered piping plover, skittering along the shores of Martinique in spring while longer, warmer days coax the maple syrup from the sugar bush trees. With our wealth of beautiful beaches like Lawrencetown, Clam Harbour, and Pomquet, summer comes with bathing suits, picnics, kites, sea kayaks and surf boards. The stunning foliage of autumn makes the fabulous crisp days of fall an ideal time to grab your camera and get out on our hiking trails. From the blazing orange and golds of the hardwood trees to the radiant red of blueberry barrens switching shades for the season, the possibilities for great pictures are everywhere. Autumn is also the perfect time to take to the links of our great golf courses with vibrant colours of the woods on one side and the expansive ocean on the other. Our winter is the season serious surfers most look forward to. Lawrencetown Beach is gaining international renown for the quality of its winter waves. If dry suits in December are not your cup of tea – head inside for a cup of tea, by the fire in one of our country inns or perhaps for a local beer and a fireside chat after an intimate evening concert.

Whatever time of year you visit the Eastern Shore, there’s a world of wonderful experiences to explore.
