Three Shores Climate and Weather

If you could imagine a place where it rarely got uncomfortably hot or unpleasantly cold, you would probably be conjuring up our kind of climate. The proximity of the Gulf Stream, the influence and action of the world’s highest tides, and the relatively shallow waters of the Northumberland Strait provide Three Shores with weather that is almost always moderate for any of our four lovely seasons. Our spring starts traditionally in April and is marked by cool temperatures that are great for hiking and cycling. Summer begins in early to mid-June with temperatures that are ideal for beach going and outdoor summer action like sea kayaking. Our autumn, the season of splendour when the leaves change into a carpet of bright colour, begins in early September and lasts until November. Fall days are typically crisp and the evenings cool when a light jacket or heavy sweater will suffice. And winter, from December until the end of March, is just right for skiing, skating, winter camping, snowshoeing, and all kinds of outdoor activity where with a down coat and a decent pair of gloves and a good hat, you’ll be comfortable outdoors all day.

Spring temperatures usually range from -5 C to 22 C (23 F to 72 F). Daytime temperatures are generally warmer.

Summer temperatures average around 10 C to 25 C (50 F to 77 F).

Fall temperatures tend to be in the 2 C to 20 C (36 F to 68 F) range.

Winter temperatures average from -10 C to 4 C (14 F to 40 F).
